Meet Dr. Daniel Mooney
Dr. Mooney is Double-Board Certified in both Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics.
He is the only Physician with these dual Board Certifications caring for outpatients in Brevard County. Prior to moving to Florida, he worked for 8 years as an Attending Physician in the Pediatric Emergency Department at the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital (MFCH) at Westchester Medical Center (WMC) and was an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at New York Medical College (NYMC) in Valhalla, NY.
Dr. Mooney graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Binghamton University. After college he worked in hospital administration at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC). There he quickly developed a deep respect for the medical professionals and patients that he encountered and subsequently attended Columbia University’s Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medical Program.
He later earned his MD degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, NY. After medical school, he completed three years of Residency in Pediatrics at NYMC followed by three years of Fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Goryeb Children’s Hospital at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ. He then returned to NYMC as an Attending Physician and Professor in the Pediatric Emergency Department.
Dr. Mooney moved with his wife of over 25 years and their 3 children to the Melbourne area in 2021. Leading up to the opening of Launchpad Pediatrics, Dr. Mooney spent over one year working locally as a general pediatrician. He now hopes to continue caring for kids from across the Space Coast as Launchpad Pediatrics takes off!

Meet Misty Wyrick, Office Manager
Misty Wyrick brings a wealth of experience and a nurturing touch to Launchpad Pediatrics as our dedicated office manager. With two decades of experience in medical offices and ten years in general pediatric office settings, Misty expertly oversees operations, ensuring a welcoming and efficient environment for families.
Her background as a manager of a birthing center gives her unique insight into the needs of new parents, particularly those with home birth experiences.
A mother of six, Misty understands the joys and challenges of raising children and is committed to supporting families with compassion and care. Her warm, organized approach helps make every visit to Launchpad Pediatrics seamless and family-focused.
In her free time she enjoys spending time with her children, reading, and the outdoors. She is also an active Scout leader at both the Pack and Troop levels locally.
Meet Victoria (Tori) McGovern – Medical Assistant
Victoria McGovern is a lifelong Floridian and proud graduate of Melbourne Central Catholic High School (Class of 2021). As our dedicated medical assistant, she brings fresh energy and hands-on care to every visit.
With over a year of experience in pediatrics, Victoria has completed her Medical Assistant training through the Florida Institute of Technology and is nearing completion of her CCMA certification.
Her local roots and genuine love for working with children make her a trusted, friendly face for Space Coast families at Launchpad Pediatrics.
